A little video I made on my last day of work at Atomic Interactive.
Hello folks it’s time for Trailer Tuesday. The one time a week I indulge my love of the art of film and the art of film is exactly what this weeks trailer represents. A classic children’s book written by Roald Dahl, author of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, is coming to the big screen. It’s titled Fantastic Mr. Fox and it looks…pretty fantastic. Take a look.
As you can see the main draw of this film is the stop-animation. I really dig the imperfection of the art style, the way the fur does not match during the movement of characters is pretty cool. Movie goers rarely get to see this kind of hand-craftsmanship any more and it’s a nice change of pace. The second draw, for me at least, is the cast and crew. Fantastic Mr. Fox is the animated directorial debut for indie director Wes Anderson, The Royal Tenenbaums and The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, and it looks to have all his usual charm. The cast certainly helps this charm, George Clooney, Meryl Streep, Bill Murray and Wes Anderson’s go-to guy Jason Schwartzman are all in top form providing the witty banter Wes Anderson fans have come to expect. Overall I feel like Fantatic Mr. Fox might just be a winner. In an always perfect, always CG world, Fantastic Mr. Fox looks to be a breath of fresh air.
